	We have seen that the Earth is in a Long Term and short term Warming Cycle, regardless of the existence of Man. Man may or may not be helping it along.

	Which is better, to spend trillions for global climate control, carbon emissions that is only slightly correlated with temperature and that will have negligible effect 100 years from now.  Or to address problems with solutions as they occur to actually improve things now and in the future. 

Lets try two exercises : The first one is finding positive responses to the negative effects.  The other to find the positive aspects of this all.  With each problem, lets get practical and suggest how we might overcome them.

 I .  What are the specific negatives to humankind.  With each problem, lets get practical and suggest
how we might overcome them.  And to be more specific,  what effects of global warming are hurtful to you?
	1.	People die from heat stoke in the cities.  Happened in Paris among older people a few years ago.
		a.  Air conditioning.  Open Public Buildings -- hundreds died in poor urban heat wave.
		b.  Design with white roofs (instead of asphalt) will cut city temperature by 10F.
		c.  White parking lots .  That plus
		d.  Plant shade tree zones will take off another 10F.
	2. Flooding coastal plains.
		a.  Duh!.  Don't build in flood zones.
		b.  Repeal flood insurance -- uses tax dollars to rebuild on those same flood plains.
	3.  Cost of Energy use rises.
		a. Stop discounting electricity for big users.  Show the true cost of energy intensive products, 
			unsubsidized.
		b. Diesel engines (with clean fuel and filter technology) - more miles per gallon
		c. Clean Energy sources   -- I personally like solar.
		d. Solar cookers.  Pot lids. 
		e. Alternate energy sources -- the more the better.
	4.  Pollution
		a. Stop burning down jungles to make new cropland for alcohol fuels.
		b. Indoor stoves and/or flue/chimneys to replace open fires both indoor and outdoor.
		c. Toxic insecticides as insects increase.
	5. Population
		A chart from last week's energy talk intended to show carbon and temperatures
			Actually shows direct relationship between people and pollution.  
			People are both a pollutant and a drain on earth's resources.
		Population control -- options include: war, plague, pestilence, cool aid, ...? 
			Urbanization  reduces children who are an impediment rather than farm help.
		Provide pensions (no need to have large family for one's old age.)
		As with the earlier suggestion of ending subsidies, I would add ending of children subsidies, 
			tax deductions, ADC, welfare, insurance priced for two or more children.
		Should we go so far as to impose a tax on surplus children?
		Air conditioning -- let people sleep in summer.
	6 . Temperature Related Diseases
		a. Malaria, fight it directly with vaccines, not with carbon credits.
			Note: Buying and selling carbon credits are rights to pollute; to beat-up the environment.
	7.  Fewer polar bearsl  mirgration of animals.
		a.  More seals.
		b.  When was the last time you petted a white bear?
		c.  There are 25 thousand white bears and only 35 hundred Kodiak bears. One has a press agent.		
	8.  Permafrost melt -- will the water drain?
	9.  Chance of war over Arctic resources.
	10. Desertification of some areas -- water wars; tribal migration

 I I .	What are the advantages of a warmer earth?

		Increased world food production from longer growing season.
		Reduced heating fuel consumption.
	What are the effects of a warmer Marshall County to you?
		Milder winters.
		Less heating cost.
		Longer Spring and Fall.  Spring instead of being a Tuesday as last year may become several weeks.
		Southern plants, trees and flowers to brighten the outdoors and in.
		Comfort and quality of life.  Subjective.
